Skulls and Crossbones

Our Administrators have banned us from wearing skulls and crossbones because apparently, they represent death. A few of my friends and I talked to Mr. Brillhart, who started this controversy over wearing skulls. His explanation was that while he was giving a charter school student's parents a tour of the school, while showing them around there was a student wearing skulls and crossbones on his bag straps. He thought this wasn't a good representation of the school as a whole, and talked to Mr. Beel about it to get the skulls banned. The ban was based on Mr. Brillhart's own personal opinion, and is why we aren't allowed to wear skulls.
In the agenda,"Clothing that disrupts the school or classroom environment or inhibits learning, in the opinion of the administration, will not be permitted." (pg. 15). That clearly states that the skulls must be disruptive somehow. Mr. Brillhart is the only one disrupting anything with the skull controversy. The only person I've seen tell a student to change because they were wearing skulls is Mr. Brillhart. He is just further causing more havoc in our school. If you think that any student from East Kentwood High School should be able to wear skulls and crossbones, please sign this petition. Thank You.
