Radio stations have gotten into the habit of playing some songs as many as 120 times a week. This is an average of 17 spins a week. This decision has narrowed playlists and prevented a large number of artists from having their songs played. Radio needs to listen to the people. When we request a song, we want to hear it. The songs that receive the most airplay on a station should be the ones receiving the most phone calls and e-mails. A station should not play a song in heavy rotation just because a station 3,000 miles away is playing it every 90 minutes.
