We the undersigned, wish to build a safe BMX / BSX track. This petition is to establish the need for this kind of facility in the area. BMX and Mountain biking are both rapidly growing sports in the UK, especially with BMX racing as a newly recognised sport in the 2008 Olympic games, however there is a serious lack of facilities supporting these sports especially in the Stafford, Staffordshire area.
We wish to create a safe area in which young people can ride, improve their skills and partake in social activates. These sports are enjoyed by all sexes and ages however for children we need to make these areas more accessible and with in a distance that parents are happy for them to travel. The proposed track is to be built in Stafford and will be accessible by bus or bike for everyone in the surrounding area. Meaning children, teenagers and adults alike will have access to a safe environment to ride in without the need for additional transport.
The closest facility for this type of activity is Cannock chase but this is not within easy reach for children and teenagers, and the closest BMX track being in Leegomery, Telford.

I've raced BMX at World level for 22 years and there has always been a need for a track in Staffs. I'm from Stoke but would be very excited at the prospect of this happening and would be willing to help.
