Star Wars Classic Trilogy DVD should include original verions

George Lucas has recently stated that he plans only to include the Special Editions of the original Star Wars trilogy when they are released on DVD. We, the undersigned, believe that the original versions of these films should also be included in a DVD release. Though we do not dispute that Mr. Lucas may certainly include his revised versions if he wishes, we feel he should respect the original experience that many of us in his audience had, as well as preserve these original versions for future generations. As an advocate of film preservation, we hope Mr. Lucas will make sure that the original versions of these films are not lost forever to present or future generations, and that they are available in the best viewing format possible.
