In the light of ongoing criticism and undermining of the First United Church in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, we the undersigned hereby declare our support for and belief in:
- The vision and work of First United Church as an inclusive intentional community at the margins standing with the most marginalized of the marginalized and the most troubled of the troubled.
- The integrity and competence of the Senior Leadership team at First United and of the Board that has provided direction over the past 4 years.
- The need for public acknowledgement and support for the efforts of First United over the past three years, from the wider leadership of the United Church, other Faith Communities, the City and the Province.
