We remember. We remember 1948, millions of you, your parents and grandparents expelled at gun point from your villages and homes: the illegitimate birth of the state of Israel. We remember the refugee camps you lived and live in. We remember you waiting. We remember you standing up, Palestine in your blood, fighting for your right to your land, Palestine, that was, and will be. We remember 1967. We remember the agreements and accords between Israel and all other powers; about your land. We remember that you, the Palestinian people, never signed away your rights to your homeland, never, because you remembered it with your flesh and it was yours, yours to touch, smell, live in and grow old in. We remember your IntifadaI and IntifadaII and the death and destruction that was unleashed on you because you knew who you were, Palestinians, and what you wanted: return to Palestine.
And we never, never got used to the news and images of your death, the death of your old, your young, murdered by Israelis, your homes demolished by the Israelis , your olive tress uprooted by the Israelis. And it was and is, only disgust and rage directed at the army and the people who occupy your land and want you to be silent and to silently forget.
This is June 2006 and the Israeli war machine is once again unleashed on Palestinian sovereignty and people. Death and destruction has been made Palestine. Palestine has become, once again, the meeting place of Colonial Occupation and resistance for freedom and justice.
