Stop cruelty to birds in communities

I would like to start a petition and stop a law under the Fish and Wildlife act
to stop the trapping and killing of non threatened birds in town. Birds such as hawks and owls are protected but other species of birds aren't. I feel that this law is cruel and people who love birds and feed them should not be subjected to such acts of cruelty considering it isn't even controlled so the person trapping the birds may inflict any type of pain and cruelty. I as a home owner living in a communtity am currently experienceing such an event, as an animal lover and bird lover this has caused me great distress and I feel this should not be occurring in my home , a place where I should feel secure and have peace. I have been feeding birds all my life, I have saved birds and taken them to wildlife rehab centres to be healed and set free again..I have to ask why do these centres even exist. When I feed the birds I get a wide variety coming to my feeders, bluejays, sparrows, woodpeckers, finches, magpies, chichadees to name a few, In the winter it is especially hard for birds to survive and by feeding them, it supplies a layer of fat on them which in turn protects them from the cold, also their food source is quite limited in the winter months. Some birds are hated by people such as the magpie, I have been told by numerous people that they kill song birds and raid their nest...well actually hawks and owls do too, and peoples cats are well known for this. one thing regarding a magpie is that they are scavengers which is a good thing cause they will clean up garbage that inconsiderate people will leave laying around, also bluejays are a scavengers too, I have nothing against hunting because I feel a person has the right to feed their families, but leave it in a controlled enviroment, I don't want to see this, but to kill just because you don't like something is wrong. Everything that is born wants to live. I personally hate child molesters but that doesn't give me the right in our society to kill them so why should an innocent creature be allowed to get killed just because they are not liked. They want to live too, alot of people aren't aware how intelligent birds are. They love their young and some species like magpies and crows actually get very upset if one of their own gets killed, they even hold funerals for them. Do they feel pain, you darn right they do. I feel this petition should be forwarded to the fish and wildlife to stop this act. Birds have a hard enough time surviving in the natural enviroment, mankind doesn't need to contribute, especially in my back yard. I'm am asking all people who believe this act should be removed, please sign so I can present this and hopefully speak up for those who cannot.
