Sign this petition to let pet stores we NOT be supporting the sale of puppies and kittens any longer. The city of Toronto just passed legislation in May 2011 that bans the sale of puppies in pet stores and it's time to make this law enforceable PROVINCE-WIDE.
Puppies and kittens require exercise, attention and whole lot of care and while they may be vaccinated and 'ready for sale' - it is not fair that they are caged in little boxes as if they were inanimate objects displayed for profit rather than live animals that deserve the same freedom we humans enjoy. This sort of treatment is atrocious and we need to stop it one pet store at a time.
Moreover, many puppies are bought from puppy mills or as they prefer to claim "reputable breeders". These "reputable breeders" sell their animals sick, unsterilized, and most often than not inbred. They come from deplorable conditions.
Animals deserve to be free and since they have no voice , we need to be their voice and campaign for their freedom on their behalf.
