STOP THE MADNESS NOW!!

PETITION FOR AN END TO IMPUNITY AND THE MADNESS OF GAMBIAS PRESIDENT YAHYA JAMMEH

We the Undersigned members of the Gambia Press Union United States Branch, and other members of the Gambian Community at home and abroad Petition as follows:

- That the Gambia government immediately allows the family and friends of detained former presidential candidate and opposition coalition coordinator Halifa Sallah access to him

- That the government of The Gambia produce Mr. Sallah forthwith to assure the general public that no bodily harm has been inflicted on him while in custody of the Gambian authorities

- That maximum pressure be brought to bear on Gambian president Yahya Jammeh to put an end to the brutal politics of impunity and terror he is inflicting on the Gambian people

- That maximum pressure be brought to bear on President Jammeh to put an immediate end to the mass arrests of innocent men, women and children, including elderly persons across the country, on bogus charges of witchcraft

- That both the Gambian people and the International Community recognize that Gambian president Yahya Jammeh is mentally unstable and no longer capable of serving as head of state

- That President Jammehs claims to be able to cure HIV/AIDS, Asthma, hypertension, impotence, infertility, and cancer, among other ailments, serve as ample evidence that he is deranged and incapable of being a head of state

- That President Jammehs latest importation of sorcerers from Guinea who, accompanied by armed members of the Gambian security forces currently traverse the country in search of alleged witches, is another indication that the president has gone mad and cannot be trusted to run a country

- That in the light of the overwhelming evidence pointing to the mental instability of President Yahya Jammeh, the International Community should help the Gambian people get rid of him before he inflicts irreparable damage on the Gambian nation
