Stop The Styrofoam

This is our stop the styrofoam petition to at least terminate styrofoam from out local stores. We do have good reasoning to stop the styrofoam! For one, when you throw away styrofoam, they dump most of it into the ocean, then sea turtles eat it thinking its food, but then they die because sytrofoam floats, and then the turtles can't go back to the bottom of the ocean! Secondly, since styrfoam is not biodegradable (which means it can't dissolve back into the earth) many places are filling up with piles of unused styrofoam!

The "Stop The Styrofoam" crew and I googled "styrofoam alternates" or "what are some styrofoam alternatives" and I came up with many results, but this one is my favorite site: http://www.thegreenguide.com/doc/ask/styrofoam2 They explain the hazards of styrofoam and replacements in a "short but sweet" way. One alternate is styrofoam-ish, but is made out of potatoes and cornstarch! When ordering something, try to request this alternate. Any small things can help, including signing this petition! Hope that you do!
