Students against the illegal firing of (adjunct) Professor Amy K. Rosenthal

It has come to the attention of certain elements of The American University of Rome's Student Body that Professor Amy K. Rosenthal may be dismissed from teaching as of the end of the current (Summer I) Semester.
As students that are taking, or already took, classes with the aforementioned Professor, we feel the need to bring to your attention the following:
1. Professor Amy K. Rosenthal has proven to be a valid Professor, very competent in the fields she teaches (i.e., Political Sciences and Political History);
2. The Professor has always been fair and unbiased, avoiding irrational favoritism (unlike other Professors at AUR, as specified in letters some of us have brought to your attention within the past few days);
3. She has shown genuine interest in the work of her students, as she has edited many thesis of the students that graduated in May, 2010 (this is clearly shown in the initial statement of the Thesis of former Student Franco Pedroni);
4. She has proven to be much closer to the students than most Professors at AUR, as she has always been keen to engage in constructive conversations over specific extra-curricular topics;
5. She has helped many in being admitted in Postgradutate programmes by recommending us, thus showing her interest in the success of each and every one of us.
As we have heard from a variety of sources that Professor Rosenthal may be dismissed from teaching at our beloved University, we felt the need to bring to your attention the aforementioned reasons why this person should not only be reinstated into AUR, but should indeed become a permanent member of this University.
We feel that this Professor may indeed bring prestige to our troubled Department; therefore, we do not feel comfortable with AUR's unilateral (and may we add, illegal under certain aspects) decision of firing this Professor we feel so close to us.
