James Cook Boys HIgh school is situated on Princes Highway in the suburb of Kogarah. For many years the school has seen Principal after Principal come and go as the Department of Education introduces the students to new Principals who have no understanding of the needs of the students or the school.
There has been one constant in the school and that is the vice Principle, Vicki Manos. She has been shifted and shafted into different positions between Moorefield Girls High School and James Cook Boys Technology High School.
The Department of Education and Training will continue to turn our schooling years upside down as they continue to seek out Principals from far and wide in order to avoid making the only person equipped for this position, the Principal of this school.
Vicki understands the dynamics of the culturally diverse school we attend. She has supported us through the most tumultuous times in our life and she encourages us to perservere through school and tap into our strengths so that we can become the productive adults we know we can be.
We, the students, demand that the Department of Education and training appoint Vicki Manos as our Principal. We strongly believe that she is the only person appropriate to be in this position. We have seen so many Principals come and go and it is only Vicki whom we have seen day in day out as the next Principal walks out the door. As children growing into adults we have the right to stability and to have support networks that nourish our strengths and strengthen our weaknesses and no other person can do this better than Vicki Manos
