We, the undersigned, express our full support for the student occupation at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). Students occupied the Vera Anstey Room at LSE at 2pm on Thursday 2 December, specifically avoiding disruption to teaching and learning at LSE.

We stand with the occupying students in opposing the proposed cuts to higher education, the proposed trebling of tuition fees and the drastic changes planned for the sector as a whole. Like them, we urge MPs of all parties to vote against the proposals. We stand in solidarity with all those fighting these cuts nationally and internationally, and with ongoing student occupations around the country.

We endorse the following demands made by the occupation:

1. A joint open statement by the LSE Students' Union, University and College Union (UCU), and Howard Davies (Director of the LSE) against the cuts, fees, and the attack on the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

2. No victimisation of Students or Lecturers involved in the occupation or any protests against the cuts.

In solidarity.
