Upon installing Norton Anti-Virus, I discovered that it also installed a program called XtreamLok or xl.exe. This program has been known to interfere with the copying of CDs and DVDs. It is designed to stop you from cracking or reverse engineering software. It can interfere with viewing of AVI files and cause page fault errors. This program is pure spyware and uses system resources and memory. It is difficult to uninstall and I have not been able to delete all the registry keys. It can be found in your c:/Windows/System32 folder. Even if you uninstall Symantec products, it will still be there.
This is unfair. No notification is given to the user; we are not told it will be installed. It disgusts me to see spyware in AntiVirus software. I believe that we should boycott Symantec products unless this spyware and any other apps are removed from this and other versions of Norton AV and other Symantec products and a full uninstaller of this XtreamLok License Manager.
