Tattoo's and piercings are not indicative of worker quality, nor intelligence. In 2011 there is still some stigma associated with these personal choices, yet religion (a personal choice) is no longer even looked at in the hiring process. Workplace appearance guidelines are obsolete and archaic, and bordering on discriminatory to some of the population.
The goal of this petition is to remove, or even update policies in the workplace to no longer discriminate workers based on appearance. Personal choices are never indicative of intelligence, or quality of worker, and asking someone to modify their appearance for any reason is bordering on offensive.
