To the owners and operators of Fanfiction.net (http://www.fanfiction.net):
Recently, you stated on your site that:
"FanFiction.Net would like to address a growing problem. For whatever reason, some writers feel it's okay to copy-n-paste musical lyrics they have not written into their fiction. If you did not write it, do not post it. This has always been our policy. Please remove these entries immediately to avoid account closure."
So lets work through this. you're now banning songfics. Oh well done. I wonder if it has come to your attention (since you will no doubt disregard the miriad emails you will receive) that the majority of users on your site have at least one songfic on their profile? In many cases, the ONLY fics people have on their accounts are songfics!
The fanfiction.net catchphrase is "Unleash your imagination and free your soul." Songfics allow people to do this. by installing this rule you're going against your own statement.
We cordially ask that you recall this foolish rule, before you start driving away both your own traffic and potential users.
