"The Hindu" newspaper: Stop Lying

Dear Concerned Indian,

We live in times where we are seeking more transparency, development and are questioning the system /politics through print, TV, internet medias, RTI and courts. Bold magazines have run sting operations exposing the dubious ways of our politicians. At the same time, a specific newspaper is using the same media-reach to sway Indian public opinion towards its personal affiliations, by manipulating facts.

I want to run this public campaign to expose the ways of the South Indian newspaper "The Hindu" and ask them to report news honestly and responsibly. Let me quote a few examples of newspapers news:

Lies, Propaganda favoring foreign countries:

"The Hindu" newspaper is known for its pro-communist and anti-BJP leanings. It sources its news from the Chinese government propaganda news agency Xinhua (http://www.xinhuanet.com/english).

On Aug 8th, 2009 China International Institute for Strategic Studies (CIISS) wrote in Chinese that, "If China takes a little action, the so-called Great Indian Federation can be broken up," The Chinese strategist contends that Beijing should break up India into 20-30 independent states with the help of "friendly countries" like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. This was actively reported by Times of India, NDTV, Zee and other popular news media and created a furor amongst concerned news readers. Surprisingly The Hindu who reports directly from the official Chinese news agency Xinhua, did not report anything from their Chinese friends. Rather The Hindu conveniently reported/supported its friends in the following days:

I think it is the duty of any India caring Media to report any threats to India and Indian people. I feel it is the responsibility of "The Hindu" to report truth and let us judge, rather than blackout extreme-news from their friends.

The Hindu news paper is known for its extreme Pro-SriLankan government propaganda. The news paper functions as an war campaign agent of the Rajapakse government and promotes lies provided by the Sri Lankan government, to keep facts about the Sri Lanka civil war away from Indians. While most other media were reporting the grave humanitarian situation of the civilians in the military camps after the war, The Hindu news paper quoted the enforced civilian camps where 300,000 civilians are being held for three months since the end of the war as an uplifting experience. (Please compare with Amnesty International report and New york times news)

The Hindu news paper is known for its pro-chinese, anti-Tibet stand. It described Dalai Lama as Separatist, Revanchist and Backward-looking. The Hindu advised Indian Government to rein in the Dalai Lama, expel the Dharmasala-based government of Tibet in exile from Indian soil, and do the best to promote the return of the Dalai Lama, ..his followers, .. Tibetan refugees to their homeland on a voluntary.. basis by abandoning the pipedream of separating Tibet from China.

The Hindu feeds Indians with their politics and lies between facts. Their news and opinions use sly lies favoring the personal affiliations and associations of their management.
