We, the undersigned, urge the Municipality of Jerusalem to reverse its decision to close the Nablus Rd & Antara Ben Shadad Street to vehicles in front of the Jerusalem Hotel, on the basis that such an action will cause considerable, unwarranted hardship to local businesses, religious facilities, and other commercial service providers. Specifically, the undersigned are long-time residents, visitors, and patrons of the Jerusalem Hotel, its restaurant, and surrounding tourism landmarks. The proposed action is in our view unnecessary and disproportionate to the Municipalitys stated benefits to re-organize traffic in the area, as this will severely impact the ability of these institutions and landmarks to operate normally, resulting in loss of income and the livelihoods of many. We are confident that alternative plans by the Municipality could achieve more harmonious results.
