The Joanne Rowling Recognition in Print

When Jo first was first attempting to publish the novel, she had a hard time finding a buyer. When Bloomsbury graciously decided to pick up the book, they had only one stipulation: that the book be sold under the pen name J.K. Rowling. (Note: Jo does not even have a middle name. The K was fabricated.) The reasoning has been cited that Bloomsbury was afraid that young boys, to whom the series is geared towards, might not want to read a book written by a woman.
Rowling is now writing the final volume of the Harry Potter series, and we assume that the plan is that the unnamed seventh book will, like the prior six, be printed under the pen name J.K. Rowling.
WE THE UNDERSIGNED OF THIS PETITION strongly believe that Bloomsbury should print this book under the name Joanne Rowling instead of J.K. Rowling, as she quite clearly deserves to have her actual name printed on the cover of one of her books. This series has changed the lives of many across the globe, and we feel that it is a disservice to continue publishing these novels under a pen name. Rowling has obviously earned her place in the literature community, and the least that can be done is to use her real name once.
