The Paris Hilton Anti Petition Petition
Sign Now
Paris Hilton's "service" to America of "bringing hope" does not and should not excuse her from the rules, regulations, and stipulations of the law of California. Dismissing Hilton's sentence creates precedence and further fosters the notion that there are two separate justice systems; a lenient system for the wealthy and a harsh system for the everyday person.
If Paris Hilton was instead Monique Perish from Compton, she would have been thrown in jail after the very first citation for driving with a suspended license. Being ignorant of the charges levied against one's self is no excuse. As an adult, it is Paris Hilton's responsibility to make sure she understands and abides by the rulings issued to her from the California court of law. Failure to do so is her own fault, not that of her publicist or anyone else. Furthermore, Paris Hilton should be grateful that the judge even allowed her case to be heard after its scheduled time. Normally, if a defendant is absent when their case is called on the docket, the judge will declare the defendant guilty in their absence.
This petition is to ask that not only Paris Hilton's petition be ignored, but that she be required to serve her sentence. If upon appearing at the prison to serve her sentence there is no available occupancy, then she shall be remanded to appear at a later date to serve her sentence. Paris Hilton was found guilty by California's court of law and she should be required to serve her sentence. It is what would be required of any other individual, and given Paris and the rest of the Hilton family's blatant contempt of the court ofd law, is the only just a right thing to do in order to ensure that justice, in the great state of California, is indeed blind.
