A petition to protect the collectibility and value of collectible items particularly:
Beanie babies (by Ty Inc),
Tatty Teddy products (by Carte Blanche Greetings),
Teddy Big Foot (Carte Blanche Greetings),
Bobble the Little Blue Owl (by Carte Blanche Greetings),
Elliot and Buttons products (Xpressions gift company)
along with many other collectible ranges.
As well as being aimed at children, there is also a huge market for the above products as collectibles. The collectibility and value of these products are being ruined by shops displaying prices on stickers, which leave a glue residue on the card tags, which is impossible to remove without damage. Products cannot be classed as perfectly MINT if in a condition where a price gun has been used. Many of the products mentioned above include 'tear off tabs' where the manufacturers have specifically added the price themselves (eg Carte Blanche Greetings). This should be left for the customer to remove if they wish as many people buy as collectibles and the products are not MINT if removed. Many alternatives such as card signs, or simply leaving on the manufacturer's own prices, would resove this issue.

I agree wholeheartedly that price stickers should not be used on the tags of collectibles. If stores need to price items individually this should be done by separate tagging that does not affect the manufacturers tagging.

Collectible Toys with stickers put on the tags are worthless. I will not buy any that have these stickers on them. I have tried and there is no way to get them off. Please stop this practice.

Maybe a better way of placing prices on the Beanies would be for stores to attach an extra tag that includes price, and other info (like barcodes, etc.) I do know of at least on Cracker Barrel that does this.
