Having done a lot of research in the last 2 years about these stealthy organisations, worrying facts have come to light.
They originally were set up some 25-30 years ago by only 1 commissioners report.
They are not registered with the fsa,if you complain to the information commissioners office they pass the buck either back to the fsa or the financial service ombudsman.
When you complain to the financial service ombudsman they pass you to the oft
(office of fair trading)who ONLY PART OVERSEA activities.
The most worrying thing ive come accross is the do not have any licence to operate!!!
no they do not need a consumer credit licence,BUT as they are handling data protection, when you complain to data protection, they pass you back to information commissioners office!!
We need ONE body overseeing their activites, not 4-5 as at present.
Currently its a merry-go-round of pass the buck when you complain against these organisations which needs to be rectified.
