TO THE OMBUDSMAN: SUSPEND MAYOR ARTURO RADAZA !!!

SHOULD MAYOR RADAZA BE SUSPENDED

As promised, Richard King representing J. King and Sons have filed a P50 million damage suit against Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Arturo Radaza and other Lapu-Lapu City Officials for denying him the necessary permits to operate
his business even if those permits were already granted to the previous owner Mr. Ben Ebrada. As usual, The FREEMAN sought and failed to get the side of Mayor Radaza so he can't say that our reporters didn't publish his side of the story. Mayor Radaza just doesn't want to talk to the
media.

But while Mr. Richard King has filed this suit, I would like to believe that this is the job of the Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas; after all, we are talking here about an elected local executive who is using his vast powers to intimidate those who were wishing to invest in his locality. But what is the Office of the Ombudsman doing? Surely with this issue being blown out in the press, we cannot expect eerie silence from the very
government entity that is tasked to stop shenanigans by public officials?

While no less than Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeсa exhorted other businessman who may have been in a similar predicament as the King brothers to come out, I doubt if these businessman will really come out. Most of them are
scared that City Hall may take away what little they have and in the end, they would lose more money. So the least that we can expect the Ombudsman in the Visayas to do is have Mayor Radaza suspended. If the Ombudsman did their job and suspend the Mayor, only then can we expect others to come out of the woodwork. But can we expect the Ombudsman to suspend Mayor Radaza? I don't know the answer to that query but we expect the Ombudsman to say something on this.

The two news artcle above are just a few of the numerous articles concerning the recent alleged anomalies committed by Mayor Radaza. What we are after is for the TRUTH to come out and nothing else. Therefore, in order for other businessman/victims to come out in the open without fear of being harassed, we are signing this petition and are in favor for the SUSPENSION OF MAYOR ARTURO O. RADAZA so that a fair, true and fearless investigation can be conducted for the benefit of the people of Lapu-Lapu in particular and for our beloved country in general. Although we know that this petition won't stand as evidence in the investigation, it is a good start and would serve as the candle in the dark in these dark moments wher everyone is searching for the TRUTH . . .
