We, the devoted fans of DOOL, sign this petition in an effort to convince headwriter Hogan and the rest of the writers at DOOL that Max Brady and Abby Deveraux have what it takes to be an amazing young couple. Darin Brooks and Ashley Benson have a natural and believable chemistry. As shown by recent Max/Abby(MABBY) scenes, the actors bring out the best in each other. They shine on screen together, and the sparks are all over the place. Both actors have been put on the back burner for the past year and a half. It's time to give them a real front burner storlyline romance. They are too talented to always be overlooked. We ask for more Max/Abby scenes. We feel that this young potential couple will attract a lot more younger viewers to DOOL. Mabby already have a huge fanbase that has been waiting to see them finally become a couple ever since Darin had joined DOOL in 2005. These devoted fans have stood by both characters and have hoped that they would finally be given a REAL storyline together.
Once Hogan took over, we were FINALLY given hope that Mabby will happen. In several interviews, he had talked about the "love triangle" that will develop between Abby/Max/Mimi. We sincerely wish that Mabby will be the endgame, not the dull pairing of Max and Mimi, two characters who have never had any prior scenes together. We feel the Max/Mimi pairing is too forced and rushed. However, we see so much more in Max/Abby. Mabby are passionate and fiery together. Also they remind us of early Jack/Jennifer and Bo/Hope. All those romances have started when the younger innocent girl fell for the older bad boy. And look how successful such pairings had turned out.
All the recent polls in every single magazine have Abby as the winner by a landslide over Mimi, Stephanie, and Chelsea as for choices for Max's love interest. The fans are responding incredibly well to Mabby. There are music videos of Mabby on youtube.com all over the place. Not to mention, that there are already numerous sites and forums devoted to Max/Abby all over the internet. The very possible young couple is generating a lot of buzz, which is always a good thing.
Please stop with the overwhelming amount of Max/Mimi scenes. And instead give us more Max/Abby moments and scenes. Let them have airtime together. It's understandable that each character needs to develop first as an individual before being rushed into a pairing. We don't mind waiting at all. We just want actual scenes of them alone, without Mimi or anyone else. Their romance can develop as slowly as ever just as long as we actually get more than one scene of the two of them per two weeks. The tiny bits and pieces we are getting are amazing, and we thank you so much for them, Hogan. But we just really would love more of Max/Abby period. Whether they are working at the garage or eating food together. Anything at all would make the many Mabby fans very happy.
So this is our plea for a Max/Abby pairing. We call this the Truly Mabby Deeply Campaign, named after the Savage Garden song and our couple's nickname. Thank you, Hogan, for seeing the potential in Mabby. We're so happy that you're the new headwriter. You've done an amazing job in the last few months. All the stories and the character development has been magnificant. You've also opened the door to the Mabby fans and gave us great Max/Abby moments. You've also given a good amount of airtime to both Darin Brooks and Ashley Benson, the two incredibly talented actors who weren't given a fair chance before. You've also developed all the family ties so much better, like the touching new cousin relationship between Abby and Nick. So we thank you for all of that.
Also we want to thank you for putting the stop to the whole Max and his nieces love triangle fiasco. We finally got a headwriter who saw the light. Max/Chelsea and Max/Stephanie pairings were both unsuccessful, even without taking the "adoptive" family ties situation into the equation. The couples failed to generate heat AND chemistry, and, therefore, didn't gain much of a fanbase. It's shocking that Abby was overlooked before Hogan took over as even an OPTION for Max. Abby is Jennifer's daughter. She's a Horton. Max is a Brady via adoption. So now you have a potential union of yet another Brady/Horton, like Bo and Hope. Both the Hortons and the Bradys are well established families in Salem. So when you combine both families, the stories are endless.
We would also like to ask Hogan to consider revisiting Abby's early childhood illness. And maybe create a touching story where Abby will need a bone marrow transfer again, due to the failing of the other one. This would give Ashley Benson the opportunity to show off her amazing talent. And Max could be the guy that stays with Abby through thick and thin, thus giving Darin Brooks also a chance to shine in such a role. OF course, Abby would get the bone marrow transfer and would survive. But Max/Abby's love will only grow stronger through as a result of such an ordeal. It could be a potential Emmy material storyline. We would also maybe ask Hogan to consider developing Max's character a bit more. Max was an abandoned child. Maybe there are issues and insecurities in him. He was indeed adopted by the amazing Brady family, but being adopted is not the same as being a "true" Brady. So perhaps it would be refreshing to see him struggle with opening himself up to Abby, for instance, and for actually believing in something. A lot of children who are abandoned feel inadequte, like they are are not good enough. They always think it's their fault that their parents had abandoned them. I thik it would be a touching story for Abby to help Max face his inner deamons and insecurities.
Either way, thanks so much again to Hogan and Corday and the rest of the amazing DOOL writers. Keep up the great work. And please remember that Mabby could very well be the next BEST thing if they are given a front burner story and, most importantly, a TON of onscreen interaction.
Sincerely,
