UA Can Keep Their Photos

The University of Alabama has issued a warning to the long Alabama-everything supporting website, Tidefans.com. The warning stated that the website must remove ALL pictures from threads, avatars, and profile pics that have photos linked from official UA sites. They can, also, not post any pictures or copyrighted material from any site including UA sites UA.edu, Rolltide.com, crimsontradition.com, cstv.com, or any other Alabama website. What the warning does not include is the fact that instead of politely asking TF to remove a few photos from a specific thread, one member, Alex, decided to go straight to UA and report the copyright violation.

The issue at hand isn't that Tidefans specifically has posted photographs for resell, but that an apparent thread had photos in it that were uploaded to photobucket and therefore instantly allowed to be purchased, with the proceeds not going to the University, but instead to photobucket and/or the uploader.

The bottom line is that this is ridiculous and the University of Alabama can keep their photos. But it's worth noting that Tidefans has MANY Tide Pride Supporters, National (and local) Alumni Members and numerous members who own other Alabama websites.
