on 01-19-97 Dallas Piland was convicted to serve 12 years in prison for Involintary Manslughter DUI. The Person that was killed in the accident was his best friend. Dallas was not drunk, but blew 1 point over the legal limit. The vicitms family pleaded with the judge not to send him to prison as they knew that it was an accident, and to them it would be like loosing another part of their family to have dallas go to jail, but hte judge sent him anyway. Dallas has a 12year old son who will be 21when his father gets out. They are missing a relationship that cant be fixed later in life. Dallas is a model prisoner, and was sentenced to more time than some people get for 1st degree murder. We are appling for sentence midifacation, and or Executive Clemancy. This petition will help to mabey suceed in his release. No sentence that a judge could ever impose will be greater than the one that dallas has to live with daily knowing that he killed his best friend is more punishment than you or I could ever imagine cause he will never be aqble to take that back, and will never forget what was lost. The Family has forgiven him,and keep in very close contact with him. They are doing every thing in their power to help get him released...
