United Divisions

This document directly contradicts the Key Club International Motto: "Caring - Our Way of Life" by discouraging unity amongst clubs in Hawaii and clubs in Hawaii with California and Nevada. It sets up complications in splitting a Division that is already divided by four islands.
The plausible solution is to split the clubs as "Oahu" and "Maui, Kauai, and the Island of Hawaii". However, only eight clubs compose the outer islands, meaning two clubs on Oahu will likely be designated to the new Division. The resulting conflict of interests will not only divide our Division even greater than the oceans already do, but put further strain on the value of "aloha" that surely the International Board cannot comprehend.
Surely we are not ignoring the entire backlash of such an Amendment upon other Divisions as well. The possible assimilation of clubs nowhere near each other into a Division lacks any moral reasoning. The possible splitting of clubs who have worked together for years in a partnership could result in the fall out of many clubs that rely on others for help.
However, those who wish to keep the Divisions as it is still have a hope, and that is to appeal to the Board of Trustees to not adopt this amendment at the International Convention later this summer. That gives us nearly four months to attempt to stop this proposition from becoming permanent.
