United Ireland

I have taken the initiative to create a petition online to demonstrate the growing want for an independent Irish republic. We are denied a referendum on unification of our country. The ideal proclaimed by the leaders of the 1916 Rising 80 years ago this still inspires those who continue the struggle for national unity and freedom today. All who want to build a true democracy, where both political and economic power is distributed as widely as possible an Ireland based on equality, justice and rights. English rule in Ireland is an injustice, an infringement of Irish national sovereignty, which can be ended only by the British government when they decide to disengage and withdraw from Ireland. This petition calls on the Irish government and the British Government to take seriously the people of Ireland's call for a referendum on unification.
