VAC ban too long!

VALVe VAC bans are too long! In an opinion on the official Steam forums, the cheater should be warned first with 1 week ban or so... This because most people just install some hax out of curiosity or the hack is installed without their own knowledge! The week long ban would give these people a chance to think about what they have done..
When cheaters still cheat, VALVe should ban them for a lifetime..
Give people another chance VALVe, only by banning them for 1 year, more and more players will feel hatred for the company and people want to get revenge...
Please think about it VALVe!
