Veterans Park Idea at dead end street in Westboro Ottawa Ontario

Currently this is a dead end street right next to the Legion. There is currently a large open sidewalk area which is empty. Currently the Legion building as flag poles extending from the upper level of the building which requires seniors to hang out the building to change the flags. The idea is simply to upgrade this dull street end in a modern yet historic company with a green triute to the Veterans right outside one of the older branches in the City. It will require the City to extend the interlocking stone sidewalk backward approx 3/4 back of the Legion building, they will need to move three small fairly new trees, provide city owned benches and garbage receptacles and hopefully people will pitch in to cover the cost and installation of the flag poles. If approved and developed, the Legion will maintain the park keeping it tidy. The Legion will also agree to putting out a tender to have the one wall painted with a mural. The only condition is the mural would need to have a theme of Remembrance for all those who served our country both yesterday and today.
