Vodafone New Zealand Text Promotions

As everyone knows the only competitor for Vodafone NZ is Telecom NZ, September 2003 saw the beginning of fierce competition between the two companies, giving customers services such as all off peak calling, double top up, 10c text, and free PXT.
In retaliation Telecom gave their customers all off peak calling, free picture messaging (Telecom equivalent of PXT), and $10p/m text.
With the beginning of February, the only promotional offer still available to Vodafone NZ customers is free PXT. PXT requires a handset which is MMS capable, Which are not cheap While Telecom NZ customers still have $10p/m text and, more recently, Trips to Australia just for using their 025/027 handset.
Basically I feel that were getting a raw deal. I know that a lot of my friends have since gone 027 and more are still going. The trouble being that most people use the mobiles to text; It's more convenient, its cheaper then calling during peak hours, it helps you communicate without others overhearing what you are talking about, allowing for more personal conversation; But with Telecom NZ with $10p/m and Vodafone NZ customers spending on average $40p/m it seems only logical for customers to go to the best deal on the market.
So to keep customers from straying, and to keep loyal customers happy, More promotional deals should be made regarding text messaging. All Those who are in favor should sign this petition which will be sent to Vodafone NZ on the 1st of March.
