The following citizens of Union County have signed this Petition to notify Wallace Thomson Hospital Board of Directors and Union county council members of our concern over the Financial Billings and Collections of the staff at Wallace Thomson Hospital.We have been treated most unfairly in our efforts to settle accounts we are,or have been having with your Financial Department.Many of our invoices are wrong,we are being billed for services that have been paid by our insurance companies, some of us have had our South Carolina Income Tax Refunds held to pay for services we did not even know we owed because we have not received invoice notices.When we check with our insurance they give us copies of invoices received and the checks they have paid for the services.Some of us have even set up monthly payments with the hospital if it was a balance not covered with insurance.We have records where we have made these payments regulary, but our accounts are still turned over to collection agencies that have harassed us to collect the unpaid balances.We are not satisfied with the way we are treated by the Financial Staff and some of the Hospital Board of Directors we have approached to discuss and solve these problems.These problems have caused us much stress,embarrassment from the collection notices and collection agencies that have harassed us to collect these bills.This stress has caused us more health problems because of constantly being upset.We are asking for a full audit and investigation of the problems that we are incurring daily.We read in our newspapers that the Wallace Thomson Hospital is losing revenue each month, and if our bills are being paid by our insurance providers and we continue to be billed for these services,WE WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING,and WHO IS RESPONSIBLE??????
