Wayne Caballero animal abuse petition

The Humane Society of Louisiana is in desperate need of support for a court case involving the horrible, tragic abuse and death of a puppy named Caesar from Slidell, LA. We have interviewed the lady who found Caesar and tried to save his life.

The 4 month old innocent baby puppy was hungry because he had never been fed properly. He jumped onto his owner's kitchen table and innocently ate a loaf of bread. The owner returned and became so angered that he felt the punishment should be torture until death! The man (Wayne Caballero) beat the puppy with his fist until the dog was unconscious. He then threw the puppy's lifeless (but still living) body into a cage with several adult fighting pit bulls who mangled the poor little creature. As if that wasn't enough, the man then pulled the puppy from the cage and buried him ALIVE!!! And since that didn't seem to fulfill the punishment this man thought was necessary for eating a loaf of bread....the man had a friend (who witnessed the entire ordeal) go to his neighbor and ask for a can of gasoline so that he could "finish Caesar off"...he wanted to burn the barely living puppy alive!!!

The neighbor happened to be an animal lover and ran over to discover the puppy's head and mid-body buried alive. She quickly dug him up...as Wayne Caballero laughed and shouted over and over "if you live Caesar, you'll be a soldier". Caballero continued to laugh and tell the neighbor how he had beat and tortured the dog. The puppy tried to stand up, but fell over and couldn't walk. She rushed Caesar to the vet but by that time he was in a coma. She could do nothing other than allow them to put him to sleep. She held him and repeatedly told him she was sorry and that she loved him.

The worst part of this story is that not only did this sweet, innocent puppy die over a loaf of bread, but that Wayne Caballero who has many offenses on his record (for beating his girlfriend, selling drugs, having a non permitted gun to name a few) was FREED by a judge who only required a $500 bond to let the man go!!! Many of the offenses this man has on his record have not even gone to court...so here we have a girlfriend beater, drug dealer, obviously violent mentally disturbed man running free on our streets in Slidell because a judge obviously doesn't see the connection between animal abuse and other forms of violence and crime!

We MUST stand up and demand that this man get the maximum penalties for his crimes!!! We cannot let Wayne Cabellero go free. He has 2 small children and
several witnesses have stated that he abuses them as well as his girlfriend!
Will it take the loss of a human life for the judicial system to realize this man needs to be in prison!!!

Please, help us to persuade the judge for this case that Wayne Caballero deserves nothing less than the maximum! We cannot allow another judge to let Caballero go free without realizing the connection between animal abuse and human violence!
