This week the X-Factor has raised many eyebrows about the dismissal of Laura White. Many viewers (not just on this site) state that they had difficulty in getting through to place their phone votes and not just on this particular show. After all the recent media coverage about TV companies being fined for fixing competitions that involve telephone entries, how can we be assured that the results of the phone votes on this programme are correct? How do we know who were the 2 least voted for contestants? We only have the programme's word for it. The people responsible for the production of these types of shows should provide a fool-proof way of voting, or at least one that can be accountable, especially when the public are spending their money. At the end of the day, the contestants may be having their hopes and dreams dashed by less-than-honest methods. To date nothing untoward has happened when a hopeful contestant has been voted off, but how would the programme makers feel if it did???
