This is a petition expressing the views of your customers concerning the ongoing issues with your Xbox Live Service.
For approximately the past five or six days, depending on what part of the country you live in, the Xbox Live System has been experiencing widespread failures. Many Xbox Live users had difficulty connecting to the service, while others claim complete outages. We understand that the influx of new traffic to the network during the holiday season is mostly likely the issue.
We also understand that this technology is not perfect and there will be issues. Unfortunately this is a horrible time of year for such problems. Many people the received XBOX 360 Systems for the holidays and can't access the service that they paid for. There are also many loyal, long term users that realize sporadic outages and issues can be expected, but not on this scale.
As with any pay service the customer comes to expect a certain level of consistent quality. If for example, your cell phone service provider had an issue with there network you couldn't make any calls for an extended period of time you would expect and receive some form of compensation.
We ask Microsoft Inc. to consider and propose some form of credit or "free time" that can be created to our accounts to rectify the situation with these service interruptions.
Service outages are still unresolved at the time of drafting this petition.
