Keep FOCUS and Steve Wilent as editor

We the undersigned wish to congratulate Steve Wilent for doing an excellent job on the FOCUS section of the Journal of Forestry (JOF). This insert to the JOF has provided foresters with readable, "down to earth" notes and articles. Some of these articles have been thought provoking and have been the source of engaging conversations. However, it has come to our attention that the JOF staff in Washington has decided to end the publication of the FOCUS section. We feel this is a mistake and that SAF would do well to retain this means of communication. We therefore request that SAF continue to support the FOCUS section and to keep Steve Wilent as its editor. One reason we feel the FOCUS section has been popular is the editor is outside of the Washington beltway and is closer to some of us in the field. Please show your support for Steve Wilent's fine work and keep FOCUS as a JOF publication. In addition to signing this petition, send your comments about Focus to Bill Banzhaf (banzhafb@safnet.org) Editor-in-Chief Rebecca Staebler (staebler@safnet.org).

44. Richard Pellek | Please keep the FOCUS and our options open. The idea of tossing out vibrant information sources is worrisome, to me.
