Force the MPAA to Stop Showing Commercials in Movie Theaters

In recent years, there has been a trend of increasing advertising in our society, whether it be on TV, radio, or while walking past a bus station. However, we can choose to avoid these by changing stations or simply walking past them. This is just not so with commercials before movies. People are gathered in their seats, unable to tune out these ads, which they have definately not purchased tickets to see. This is obviously a ploy of the MPAA and theater associations to milk patrons for all they're worth. We the undersigners are fed up with both increased ticket prices and the display of commercial advertisements before movies. We propose that either ticket prices are lowered to balance the increased revenue from advertisement sales, or these advertiesments are discontinued.

5. Alex Swanson | Agreed, the reason I go to films is to avoid the commercials. Next thing we know there will be "intermissions" showing ads during the film, or banner ads at the top of the screen... capitalism is such a depressing system.

4. Vincent M. Artman | I pay to see a movie, not to watch commercials. It adds 15 minutes to the overall showing time, to boot.

3. Sarah Giffrow | The only effect these commercials have on me is ANNOYING THE PISS OUT OF ME. And they certainly haven't made me change my stance on any of the given products. Give it up already. :p

2. Keegan O'brien | I really dont think having 15 minutes of previews is fair much less any more time added with pointless consumerism reinforcement. People know what they want to buy in this day and age and more than not know how to not let commercials sway their choice.

1. Dane Sandersen | 15 minutes of pure crap. You raise prices, *AND* throw in ads. How greedy can you get?!? It's a outrage. I show up late so I don't have to watch them!
