"What happened to the traditional half day? The boss can accept leaving early for half days but getting in late and leaving early for kid pickups is unacceptable. This is ridiculous."

"I agree, professional development should be done on the teachers own time. Have students start school after labor day so the teachers get all their professional development in the 2 weeks before that."
"I don't think this is helpful to teachers, administrators, students, or parents. Ultimately, teachers are accountable to standardized testing and this just takes away classroom time with students who need it most."
