"Field's is an institution to the people of Chicago & visitors. I can't tell you how many times out of town guests have to go to Field's because they love it. If it is just another Macy's then I'm not sure how much shopping will get done there."
"Shame, shame, shame. You couldn't leave a Chicago icon well enough alone. What you did would be on par with renaming Wrigley Field to Wal-Mart Stadium. This is in true New York fashion: only thinking of yourselves."
"Bad move Federated!"
"keep a chicago tradition."
"We understand your desire to save money by having all your stores under one advertising brand - go ahead and change the name of the Northbrook store -no one shops there anyway, but the State Street store must remain Marshall Field & Co. It is a Chicag"
"Bring back the original Frango!"
"Changing the name 'Marshall Field' would be like renaming Wrigley Field or Comisky Park, oops."
"Please keep the name in the city at least. It is a Chicago tradition. Does traditon mean nothing to you? If the name is in fact changed, I will become a Carson's shopper and never again set foot in the former Marshall Field stores."
"It is part of Chicago history. Macy's is thought of as a NYC store, name change will just result in higher prices due to marketing the name change and won't be accepted anyway."
"even if i am too late... SHAME ON YOU MACY"S go back to NY! THIS IS CHICAGO MF'er!"
"Keep the name/brand. It Marshall Fields has strong brand equity."
"What a foolish and ill-considered marketing decision. To Macy's management in New York: You will NEVER see a single dollar from this loyal Marshall Field's shopper."
"guess I'll have to shred my field's card - field's IS chicago"
"DON'T CHANGE THE NAME!!!!"
"I don't want my Frango mints coming from Macy's!!"
"I grew up with the Lake Forest & State Street Store. If they cheapen the Field's store by making it a Macy's I will never, ever step foot into it. Never."
